As a girl myself, though I’ve never personally experienced summer in my life, I am aware that Summer can make you feel insecure about your body.
I want to share some habits that you can utilize to look after your own body and feel more confident about yourself.

WHAT IS SELF CARE?
How do you define self-care?
Ask ten different people and youโll likely get ten different answers. Thatโs because self-care is different for everyone. Self-care isnโt just about physical health. It also consists of other aspects of life which I will cover later on.
Today, I will be giving you girls some advice on โHabits That Boosts Your Healthโ.
I will be sharing habits which I personally incorporate into my life that has helped me improve physical health. I have seen positive changes in my lifestyle and I strongly recommend you guys to try them out too!
It is so important that you take care of your own body because no one else can do it for you. Of course, this will also help you live your best life or even change your life for the better.
So, without further ado, here are 5 habits that will boost your health!

HEALTHY HABITS THAT WILL BOOST YOUR HEALTH
1. EAT ONE HEALTHY MEAL EVERY DAY
Pick one meal and make it healthier. A total transformation of your health sounds appealing, and I would totally hop on the wagon if it is that easy, but sudden drastic changes at once usually wonโt lead to long-term success.
Take myself, for example, you all know how much I love my desserts. Donโt get me wrong, I still enjoy them pretty much every day. However, I eat them in moderation and ensure that I still eat healthy whenever possible.
Instead, change up the way you eat a little at a time. Say if you are used to eating pancakes with maple syrup and bacon for breakfast, try switching it up for scrambled eggs and a cup of your favorite fruits.
For more healthy breakfast ideas, check out some of my favorites:
- Whole Wheat Chocolate Chip Pancakes
- Yogurt with Vanilla Almond Granola (I make them myself!)
- Cinnamon Oatmeal
- Toast with Peanut Butter and Sliced Bananas
- Hard Boiled Eggs and Fruits
This will help you pick up the habit and slowly, youโll realize that you feel so much better about yourself and what you put into your body. Take it one step at a time, plan ahead to set yourself up for success and your body will thank you.
2. GO FOR A WALK
Going for a walk seems like an easy task, but most of us do not actually walk enough. We tend to spend too much time sitting (I am so guilty of this) due to whatever reasons.
So, one way which I like to incorporate some sort of walking to my daily routine is by taking a scenic route. And what do I mean by that?
Take a walk in the park. Or if you have pets, walk them. Going grocery shopping? If thereโs one near you which takes less than 20 minutes, walk there instead. Basically, you want to try and expose yourself to nature as much as possible.
However, it might be a little boring to walk alone sometimes. But you can try listening to upbeat music. Music is something which helps to improve my mood and I am sure it can do the same for you too. Besides, most of us cannot live without music, right?
This will keep you healthy in the long run and as an added bonus, save you tons of money from transport.
3. FOLLOW THE โIS IT WATER?โ RULE
Ask yourself each time you have a drink – Is it water?
If the answer is no, then do not drink it, with the exception of coffee and tea. I personally donโt drink sugary or gassy drinks due to medical conditions so it isnโt a huge problem for me.
Cut down on sugary drinks or, even better, eliminate that from your life. Sugar decreases your metabolism and thatโs not going to help improve your health.
If you must, swap sugary drinks with fruit-infused water, dairy-free milk or coconut water. You can also start cutting down on sugar if you add them to your coffee or tea.
Personally, I like to have a big glass of lemon water because it helps to detox my body and it is a healthy alternative to flavored water.
4. GET ENOUGH SLEEP
I struggle with sleep and have experienced negative effects like tiredness, lack of focus, a decrease in productivity and so on. Adequate sleep is so important in keeping your mind sharp and appetite under control.
I have gained a few pounds from sleeping late the past few weeks and let me tell you, it does not feel good at all. Hence, try making a habit to sleep and wake up around the same time every day.
Do not make the same mistakes I did.
5. LAUGH!
You have probably heard many people saying laughing is the best medicine. And itโs true! Laughing has shown to boost your immune system, promote heart health, burn calories and overall improve your quality of life.
Watch some funny videos, hang out with friends who have a sense of humor, think positive. Take life a little less seriously and youโll find yourself much happier and healthier!

I hope that my tips are helpful!
Here is a little summary of my tips in case you missed out on any of them:
- Eat one healthy meal every day
- Go for a walk
- Follow the “Is it water?” rule
- Get enough sleep
- Laugh
