Back in March and April, I wrote about simple ways you can achieve happiness during that month. However, I stopped doing it so that I can focus on producing more quality content, but I miss this series.. So I am bringing it back!
Enter: 31 Simple Ways You Can Achieve Happiness in August.
This will be a little bit different from how I used to write it. Instead of sharing through personal experience, I decide to share through a general perspective where everyone can be involved in!
31 SIMPLE WAYS YOU CAN ACHIEVE HAPPINESS IN AUGUST
1. GO FOR A WALK AT THE BEACH
Listen to the waves crashing and the wind blowing through your face. This will help you feel peaceful and happy.
2. BAKE SOMETHING
Baking is a form of happiness for me. Bake something you like to eat or give them away to someone else to enjoy!
3. EAT A HEALTHY MEAL
Eating and feeling healthy is one of the simplest ways you can feel happiness. I feel so happy when I eat something healthy because it makes me feel better about myself and gives me a boost of confidence!
4. VISIT A FARM
Feed your favorite animals. Interact with them. Connect with them.
Being one with wildlife (and nature) is something which will generate the feeling of love, gratitude, and happiness between you and them.
5. PLAY CARD GAMES
I have been obsessed with Monopoly Deal lately! Although I am not good at games, I still enjoy the quality time spent with my friends and all the laughter that was created while going through the process.
6. HAVE A LUNCH DATE WITH YOUR FRIENDS
If you have not seen a friend for a long time, meet up with them and have a catch-up session!
7. WRITE A GRATITUDE LIST
Every night before you go to sleep, write a list of 10 things that you are grateful for on that day.
8. READ A BOOK ABOUT HAPPINESS
Learn more about happiness by reading a book. Who knows, you might just be happy reading a book, well, that is, about happiness!
9. HAVE A KARAOKE SESSION
Sing and dance your heart out by yourself or with a couple of your friends. Just let loose and enjoy your time!
10. GO CAFE-HOPPING
Spend a day visiting cafes with your friends and hunt down for the best ones! This is a fun adventure that you can do with your friends to build a stronger bond and achieve happiness.
11. SLEEP IN
Having a good sleep knowing that there aren’t any urgent matters to attend to is just one of the most relaxing and happiest thing we can achieve after a long day of work the previous day.
12. DRINK MORE WATER
I like to think of drinking water as washing out my insides. Since our mind and body are one, we will naturally experience an integral satisfaction when we clench our thirst.
13. GO SHOPPING!
For my girls, if you’re feeling down, go shopping!
Find that good pair of jeans you’ve always wanted or just plainly window shop – this will spread positive vibes since you’re taking time off for yourself.
14. HAVE A FUNNY CONVERSATION WITH YOUR BEST FRIEND
I love this one.
My best friend and I love to spark up funny conversations whenever we can because that’s what makes us the happiest when we’re together!
Oh, and lots of laughter, too.
15. EAT DESSERTS
Of course, I am including this in.
If you know me, you will know that desserts are my happy place. And I am sure it can be yours, too.
16. COLOR OR DRAW
Art is a form of stress relief for me. Hence, I like to color or draw to make myself happy and lift up my mood whenever I’m not feeling my best.
17. EXPLORE YOUR NEIGHBORHOOD
Okay, for me, exploring places is an adventure for me and it just makes me so excited!
Invite a couple of friends along with you and explore your neighborhood – you might just find a new cafe which you all can call yours!
18. SHOW ACTS OF KINDNESS TO STRANGERS
Being kind is such a beautiful thing. Be kind to everyone whether or not they are strangers. Why? Because that smile on their faces when you showed them an act of kindness will make you feel so happy.
19. GO GROCERY SHOPPING
It might be my inner housewife, but I love grocery shopping.
I would always find excuses to go to the nearest supermarket and do some grocery shopping because it makes so really happy. It is also a form of stress relief when I am not feeling my best.
20. WATCH A MOVIE/SHOW
I enjoy watching comedies as they give me a good laugh when I needed them. One of my most favorite comedy shows is Running Man, a Korean reality show. I’ve been watching them since I was 13!
21. WRITE POSITIVE QUOTES ON POST-IT NOTES
Write positive and you will think positive.
I like to write positive quotes as it motivates me whenever I see them!
22. GO TO THE PLAYGROUND
I am sure that when all of us were kids, we would be dying to go to the playground. But the playground isn’t just for kids!
23. RUN IN AN OPEN FIELD
Having a medical condition, I am restricted when it comes to exercise. I always wish that I could run like everyone else (although people always tell me just how much they dislike running). But I’m sure it will make me so happy!
24. PLAY A SPORT
Similar to the previous point about running, I would also like to try out table tennis because I have had experience playing it before and it makes me so happy.
Hence, find a sport which you enjoy and not only will it keep you fit and healthy, it will also improve your mood.
25. PLAY AN INSTRUMENT
I am sure music makes people happy.
Playing an instrument is something which has provided me with happiness when I was young because I like to keep my hands busy (I have very itchy fingers!).
26. VISIT THE CHURCH
Whenever I visit the church, I just feel so happy there, as if all my problems and stress has faded away.
Visiting the church has been one of the best decisions I have made in my life.
27. DO SOME STRETCHING
If you’re feeling tense, stretching will help to loosen up the tension.
It also releases endorphins which are going to make you feel happier, stronger, calmer and more confident.
28. GIVE SOMEONE A GIFT

For me, seeing the smile on people’s faces when I give them a gift just makes me so happy. Maybe it is just me, but those smiles give me a sense of achievement.
29. ACCEPT KINDNESS FROM OTHERS
When kindness is given to you, accept it as a blessing and be thankful.
Say “thank you” with a smile and you will notice your mood instantly improving.
30. TAKE PHOTOS
Taking photos is one of my favorite ways to capture long-lasting memories, and is certainly something that makes me really happy when I look back on it!
A smile can change everything. Your smile can make not only others happy, but also yourself because you are radiating positive vibes through a simple yet sweet smile.
