Hence, I thought that it would be fun to share with you 10 things I want for Christmas! You can use them as an inspiration on what to include on your own wish list or as a gift guide if you plan to buy some Christmas gifts for your loved ones.

CHRISTMAS WISH LIST 2018

1. YANKEE CANDLES

Yankee Candles are so pretty and they smell so good. Though I have never owned a Yankee Candle before, I would always go inside the store if I find one and start going through them to find some nice-scented candles which will go into my wish list.

I don’t ever buy these candles for myself because they are just too costly for me to afford them for now.

2. LOVISA – ROSE GOLD TEARDROP MOONSTONE NECKLACE

I kind of have an obsession with Lovisa’s necklaces, but they are so beautiful that I wish I could just get more of them! Their necklaces are very simple yet eye-catching which is so beautiful to me.

I find moonstones so pretty and elegant. Also, I love how moonstones have such beautiful purposes for the person wearing it, such as the one above, which represents “invites new beginnings and good fortune”.

Similar to the moonstones, I have always appreciated the beauty of these stones kind of thing and how each has their own special meaning and purpose to it!

Did you know that Harper & Willow was founded by beautiful Australian YouTuber Jess Conte?

If you follow me on Instagram and watch my stories, you will know that I love her and watch her videos every single day (and I will re-watch them) because everything about her is just so beautiful and she is so so genuine.

5. PRINCESS POLLY – OPEN ROAD DENIM PAPER BAG SHORTS

Another item inspired by Jess Conte, we both have very similar styles – girly, minimal and neutral colored clothing.

I love how the shorts are elastic on the waistline as most shorts I wear are usually tight on my thighs but there will always be a gap on my waist which does not look very nice.

6. TOMBOW – DUAL BRUSH PEN

Having been watching a lot of calligraphy videos lately, I just love how therapeutic it is and so I thought that it would be nice if I can get a brush pen for myself so that I can try it out!

7. BIODERMA – SENSIBIO H2O

The items stated from here onward are all skincare products. It is really surprising though, as I have never been into skincare and beauty for my whole life until this year when I started becoming a little more cautious about how I look.

So, I decided to watch some skincare videos and YouTuber Hailey Sani recommended these products which I have listed below as well. Her skin was so smooth and clear that I knew I can trust her for the products she recommends (also because she uses those products herself).

8. CLINIQUE – MOISTURISING GEL

Based on the internet, most girls seem to have oily skin. However, I have very dry skin. My skin would always peel near my nose area and it has been a problem for me for years now.

So when I heard of Clinique’s Moisturising Gel, I knew that I need one. As the name suggests, this product helps to moisturize your skin, hence perfect for people with dry skin like me!

9. MARIO BADESCU – FACIAL SPRAY

I am by no means trying to brag, but I never had a problem with acne during my life until recently. This is probably due to my lack of sleep which has caused my face to break out a lot on my face and even my shoulders and back.

Hence, I thought this product might help with my acne. Girls, I do not know if it will work but try it at your own risk because I haven’t tried it myself yet. However, I promise to update you if I ever got one and tried it!

If you may have noticed, it has been a while since I have uploaded a post. I was in a phase of my life where I just could not figure out what exactly I am trying to show through my blog – I could not find my purpose.

However, I took time to really reflect and although I am still not 100% sure what I want to achieve from this blog, I figure it will be better for me to get back into writing what I want to write and will inspire you guys. And from there, allow my purpose to uncover by itself.

Having been suffering from anxiety, I struggle to love myself and the people and things around me.

It is a daily struggle. Some days, I feel so loved and blessed. Everything just seems so perfect and there is no such thing as stress or negativity in my life. I love myself.

And some days, I feel horrible. I get suicidal, depressed and anxious. The voice in my inner dialogues talks to me louder than anyone else. Nothing can pull me out of it.

If you may have noticed, I usually publish my blog posts on Saturdays. But I decided to publish this a day early because I am going on an overseas trip tomorrow! And that also means that I will not be able to publish this on Saturday as I intended to.

Alrighty, I am done with my explanation, now on to the actual post!

I am sure many of you might already what the Law of Attraction is. And for some of you, this might be something really new to you.

Simply put, the Law of Attraction is an ability to attract into our lives whatever we are focusing on. It uses the power of our minds to translate whatever is in our thoughts and materialize them into reality.

Likewise, if you focus on the negative doom and gloom in your life, you will remain under that cloud.

HOW TO GET OVER A BREAKUP

Today, I want to talk about romantic relationships. It is not the happy part, but I feel that it is crucial in terms of personal growth and mental wellness.

**Just a short summary of what happened which I have already announced on my previous post on 5 Valuable Life Lessons to Learn from Failed Relationships. You can skip this part and head over to “10 Ways to Get Over a Breakup”**

As many of you might already know, my boyfriend and I broke up on 9 May 2018. I do not know the EXACT reasons why, but I know for sure that those reasons are going to hurt me (which was why he chose to keep quiet about it).

It was a really hard period of time for me because, never have I ever thought that, I will not be spending forever with the person whom I thought will be.

10 WAYS TO GET OVER A BREAK UP

Facing a break up is not something you should feel ashamed of, nor use it to destroy you. Instead, get back up stronger than you used to be, and use that break up as a learning experience.

Now, I don’t want any of you girls to hate or blame yourself. What has happened already happened. You cannot change the past, but you can still shape your future.

I am not here to judge but to help you if you are facing difficulties or you just need some advice. 

Below are 10 ways which I have personally implemented so you can trust me that it works.

**The advice below is purely from my own experience. You may disagree with some of the things I say, but I would like to just put it out there that those are my own opinions and I respect yours, too.**

1. LET IT ALL OUT

Chin up princess, your tiara is falling.

It is okay to cry, but do not let it break you. I have learned this the hard way – by developing anxiety and depression. Not completely because of this, though. But it definitely contributed a lot to it.

This is just a chapter of your life, not all of it. DO NOT lose yourself in the process.

2. DELETE ANYTHING RELATED TO THEM ON SOCIAL MEDIA

Unfollow and/or block them from all social media platforms. This way, they won’t be able to get in touch with you, and vice versa. Personally, I did not do that. But my ex-boyfriend blocked me first.

I know, right?

He literally blocked me in all social media platforms and that honestly made me so relieved. Why? Because that shows he does not need me in his life anymore. And for that, I can leave his without regrets.

3. GET RID OF ANY MEMORIES THAT REMIND YOU OF THEM

By this, I mean deleting all photos that remind you of them and discarding items which hold memory for you.

I deleted all photos of him and us. It was really hard at first, but I am glad I did it. If you haven’t done it, do it now. Like, right now. I cannot deny that it WILL hurt. But it will help you in the long term. Trust me.

Deleting those physical memories will help you move on easier. Why hold on when you and your partner are just not meant to be?

God has a plan for you, and trust Him that He will guide you to where you belong. Same goes for the boy of your life.

4. DO NOT GO BACK TO THEM

If they come back to you, do not go back to them. Why would you want to give them the chance to hurt you again?

Sure, they might have changed and genuinely want to make it up to you, but you deserve so much better than this.

Just because they changed does not mean it is sustainable or that you will be happy with them.

5. DO NOT STAY AS FRIENDS

This is a huge no for me.

I am not saying that staying as friends after a break up is wrong. If that is what you want, by all means, go ahead.

As a personal belief, if you and your partner stay as friends, that means the relationship is not exactly over. Especially in situations where your partner have hurt you so much, why would you let such people stay in your life?

You deserve better.

6. HANG OUT WITH YOUR FRIENDS

If there is one thing I can advise you, it would be that it is okay to rely on your friends.

True friends will be there to help you get through the breakup, not laugh at you or say something hurtful like “I knew you guys wouldn’t last”.

If they are these type of friends, let them go as well.

Hang out with friends who lift you up and cherish you. Create happy memories with them, occupy your mind with those memories and remind yourself that you are worth it.

7. DO NOT START DATING TOO SOON

You heard that right. Do not start another relationship too soon. Exactly how long is too soon? That depends on you.

If you are still dwelling over your previous partner or still thinking about all the memories of you and him, then you are probably not ready for another relationship. Why?

Because that relationship is not made up of real love. You probably just want to re-live those memories that you and previous partner used to have. But in the long term, you might regret your decision.

Not only will that hurt you again, but you will also end up hurting the other party.

8. REMEMBER THAT “THE RIGHT ONE” IS OUT THERE

The person whom you broke up with, is never the “right one” for you anymore.

I have heard of couples who are happily married with kids after breaking up. That is truly a blessing and a miracle.

However, the hard truth is this – that situation rarely happens. 

You and your partner broke up for a reason. Something must not have worked out for both of you within that relationship. So, why would you try so hard to fit something that is just not meant to be fitted in your life?

9. KEEP YOURSELF BUSY

Similar to the point about hanging with your friends, try to occupy yourself so that your mind does not have the chance to think about your partner.

Do something that you love. Surround yourself with people who make you happy. Do whatever it takes to occupy your mind with positivity.

Try some of these activities:

  • Read a book
  • Do some baking!
  • Go shopping
  • Watch a movie

Keeping yourself busy will not only help you get back up on your feet but also improve your overall well-being.

10. FOCUS ON YOURSELF

Prioritizing yourself is not a wrong thing to do. Putting your needs first is necessary for helping you achieve what you desire in life.

In this case, focus on taking care of yourself, both in and out. For instance, focus on getting your mind to stop thinking about your partner, or focus on building up your self-worth which you might have lost during the relationship.

Putting yourself first isn’t selfish, it is necessary sometimes.

As an online entrepreneur, I have been able to test out a plethora of different tools and resources for Instagram.

That’s why I wanted to share with you 5 tools which I have used that has completely changed my Instagram game. You might have heard of some of them before, you might have not, but these are what I use for my Instagram, and genuinely recommend!

**Just in case, I am by no means an expert in photography or Instagram. These are just tools which I personally used and fell in love with (and they have also improved my Instagram SO MUCH).**

The following list contains my top 5 apps (in no particular order) that you can use for a better Instagram. So, without further ado, let’s jump right into it!

1. VSCO

VSCO is my most favorite photo-editing app so far and I have been using it for 6 years now! It is a very popular app and has really good filters like Hypebeast X VSCO (HB1 and HB2) and The Aesthetic Series (A4 to A6).

**Pardon me if I interchangeably use the words “filter” and “preset”. Just in case you do not know, both of them means the same thing!**

My favorite filter is A6 (from The Aesthetic Series) and I use it for most of my food pictures and occasionally on other photos that you can find on my Instagram.

Here’s how it looks on my pictures when I edit using that preset:

Some other popular filters are the Vibrant Classic / C Series (C1 to C3), Portraits / G Series (G1 to G3) and Bright & Clean / S Series (S1 to S3).

2. SNAPSEED

Another one of my favorite photo-editing apps.

I use Snapseed pretty much on all my photos to enhance them using the brush tool. I like to use it to whiten parts of the photo which I think needs more brightness!

Sometimes, I use the structure and detail tool to enhance small details on my photos which cannot be done with just the VSCO app. 

3. LIGHTROOM CC

Lightroom has become a major trend for many big bloggers and YouTubers this year. The reason is simple – advanced photo-editing tools and beautiful photos.

Personally, I tried using Lightroom on a couple of my photos, but it just does not seem to work for me (probably because I do not have enough knowledge to utilize this app to the fullest potential!).

However, it does offer much more functions than regular editing apps since it is associated with Adobe, which we all know is well-known for Photoshop.

4. FACETUNE

I know what you are thinking.

People only use Facetune to beautify themselves – but stay with me. I use Facetune, not for my face, but mainly to edit the backgrounds. I use the teeth whitening tool to make a background look cleaner and brighter.

Facetune is also great if you want to edit tiny details such as making your eyes look brighter (and a lot of other cool things).

So yes, I use Facetune for those little details.

5. UNUM

UNUM is amazing.

It allows you to plan your posts ahead of time. You can also insert photos into your planned feed to see how it looks with your already posted photos. It is very easy to use, very neat and makes for a much more cohesive feed.

If you are like me and need to actually see your photos on your “feed” to make it easier to visualize it, you have to try this.

18 RANDOM FACTS YOU DIDN’T KNOW ABOUT ME

Since I am turning 18 this year, I thought it will be fun to do 18 facts you probably don’t know about me!

After you read this post, I hope that you get to understand a little bit more about who I am as a person and connect with me on a more personal level. I mean, it is always a good thing to know someone better, right?

18 RANDOM FACTS YOU DIDN’T KNOW ABOUT ME

1. I HAVE NEVER EXPERIENCED THE 4 SEASONS

I live in Singapore and we do not experience the 4 seasons here. Okay, maybe just summer all year long – because that is how our typical weather feels like here! If you ever visit Singapore, you will know what I mean.

2. I USED TO HAVE PIERCINGS WHEN I WAS 13

I had piercings for each side of my ears. However, it closed back because my school discipline master did not allow shiny earrings and when I took them off to replace with black ear sticks, it hurt so much that I decided not to wear earrings ever again.

3. I AM VERY SENSITIVE TO COLD WEATHER

Literally, I get freezing cold super easily.

A 24 degree Celsius air con would leave me freezing. And guess what? I actually visited Melbourne, Australia where their usual weather is 14 degree Celsius. I didn’t realize what I was getting myself into.

4. ART HAS BEEN CLOSE TO MY HEART SINCE I WAS A LITTLE GIRL

I would say my love for Art came from my dad, who has been drawing since he was a little kid. I still remember when I would always take part in children drawing and coloring events. It was such a memorable time because I was so happy!

 

The type of Art which I enjoy the most are painting, shading, coloring, and photography. As of now, I am gravitating towards photography and mandala art more, although I still occasionally paint when I have inspiration.

5. AUSTRALIA IS ONE OF MOST FAVORITE PLACES IN THE WORLD

When I first visited Australia back in Secondary 3, I knew that place was special. I never felt so homey at a certain place before, not even Singapore (honestly). I just felt like I belong there, you know what I mean?

6. MY FAVORITE BREAD COMBO – PEANUT BUTTER AND COFFEE CREAM, EVERY DAY.

Trust me, this combo is such a bomb! I do not have them anymore, but I had them pretty much every single day after school during my primary school days!

7. PHYSICS AND MOTHER TONGUE HAS ALWAYS BEEN ONE OF MY WEAKEST SUBJECTS

Something about Physics just scares me. Probably because it’s so related to math. As for Mother Tongue (or Chinese), I am just not good at reading those words. Did you know that Chinese has more than 1000 symbols?

8. BERRIES ARE MY FAVORITE FRUITS

I dislike eating melons, citrus fruits, apples, pretty much all fruits except berries. My most favorite would be raspberries, but they are so seldom seen in Singapore and tend to be very expensive. Blueberries are one of my favorites too!

9. I AM A MIDDLE CHILD

I have two amazing sisters!

They are the most beautiful and kindhearted girls I have ever met in my life.

10. I AM ALLERGIC TO CITRUS

Not allergic in terms of eating them, but when I touch citrus fruits, my hands get super itchy and painful! But if I try to subside the pain and itchiness, my hands will get swollen.

So every time I go out to have food which comes with a lemon, I would always ask my family and friends to help squeeze them for me!

11. DISNEY IS MY LIFE. AND ALWAYS WILL BE.

Apart from horror movies, Disney movies are the only type of movies I love watching. My friends who go to movies with me would know that I always suggest Disney movies to watch (I’m sorry guys!) and they would always laugh at me saying how I am still a kid at heart.

**p.s. I go CRAZY over Rapunzel and Jack Frost even until now!**

12. WHEN I WAS YOUNGER, MY DREAM WAS TO BECOME A SINGER.

As some of you might know, I enjoy singing as a form of “art” and for my mental health. When I was a little girl, I would listen to Disney songs and they just make me so happy that I told myself – I am going to grow up and work for Disney as a voice actress and I will get to sing!

13. I USED TO CUSS

Mhmm. I used to cuss.

I am doing my best not to cuss this year and it has been a success! I do not even feel like cussing anymore and it makes me feel so much better about myself and the way I treat others.

14. I AM A DESSERT (ESPECIALLY PASTRY) LOVER. ANY TIME.

I LOVE pastries. I LOVE cakes. I LOVE cookies.

You guys are so not surprised. I know.

As you all know, my name is Yue Xuan.

I do not have a Christian name, although I plan to get one when I grow older! However, I am struggling to find a Christian name that makes me feel like I belong to that name.

16. OTHER THAN BLOGGING, MY OTHER DREAMS ARE TO TRAVEL AROUND THE WORLD AND BE AN ENTREPRENEUR

Ever since my trip to Australia, I have fallen in love with traveling ever since. Traveling makes me feel like I am learning something new about myself and the world each day and it was such an amazing feeling.

Regarding my dream to be an entrepreneur, I do not like being controlled by others. Yes, this is very common in the workplace, but I hope to a boss of my own. This way, I can set up my business the way I want to and not have to care about what others think.

17. MY FIRST JOB IS AT A PHARMACY

I work alongside my sister at a pharmacy near my house.

As a life science student myself, the medical industry has been an area of interest for me so it is fun to chat with customers about their health and help them!

However, it can be really boring when there aren’t any customers because all I could do is walk around and try to do something.

18. I ATE ALMOST EVERYTHING WHEN I WAS A LITTLE GIRL

Tissue paper, pencil lead, eraser dust – You name it, I ate it.

I was such a hungry little child, or maybe, I was just a curious little kid who wanted to taste everything that lands on my little baby hands.

1. GO FOR A WALK AT THE BEACH

Listen to the waves crashing and the wind blowing through your face. This will help you feel peaceful and happy.

2. BAKE SOMETHING

Baking is a form of happiness for me. Bake something you like to eat or give them away to someone else to enjoy!

3. EAT A HEALTHY MEAL

Eating and feeling healthy is one of the simplest ways you can feel happiness. I feel so happy when I eat something healthy because it makes me feel better about myself and gives me a boost of confidence!

4. VISIT A FARM

Feed your favorite animals. Interact with them. Connect with them.

Being one with wildlife (and nature) is something which will generate the feeling of love, gratitude, and happiness between you and them.

5. PLAY CARD GAMES

I have been obsessed with Monopoly Deal lately! Although I am not good at games, I still enjoy the quality time spent with my friends and all the laughter that was created while going through the process.

6. HAVE A LUNCH DATE WITH YOUR FRIENDS

If you have not seen a friend for a long time, meet up with them and have a catch-up session!

7. WRITE A GRATITUDE LIST

Every night before you go to sleep, write a list of 10 things that you are grateful for on that day.

8. READ A BOOK ABOUT HAPPINESS

Learn more about happiness by reading a book. Who knows, you might just be happy reading a book, well, that is, about happiness!

9. HAVE A KARAOKE SESSION

Sing and dance your heart out by yourself or with a couple of your friends. Just let loose and enjoy your time!

10. GO CAFE-HOPPING

Spend a day visiting cafes with your friends and hunt down for the best ones! This is a fun adventure that you can do with your friends to build a stronger bond and achieve happiness.

11. SLEEP IN

Having a good sleep knowing that there aren’t any urgent matters to attend to is just one of the most relaxing and happiest thing we can achieve after a long day of work the previous day.

12. DRINK MORE WATER

I like to think of drinking water as washing out my insides. Since our mind and body are one, we will naturally experience an integral satisfaction when we clench our thirst.

13. GO SHOPPING!

For my girls, if you’re feeling down, go shopping!

Find that good pair of jeans you’ve always wanted or just plainly window shop – this will spread positive vibes since you’re taking time off for yourself.

14. HAVE A FUNNY CONVERSATION WITH YOUR BEST FRIEND

I love this one.

My best friend and I love to spark up funny conversations whenever we can because that’s what makes us the happiest when we’re together!

Oh, and lots of laughter, too.

15. EAT DESSERTS

Of course, I am including this in.

If you know me, you will know that desserts are my happy place. And I am sure it can be yours, too.

16. COLOR OR DRAW

Art is a form of stress relief for me. Hence, I like to color or draw to make myself happy and lift up my mood whenever I’m not feeling my best.

17. EXPLORE YOUR NEIGHBORHOOD

Okay, for me, exploring places is an adventure for me and it just makes me so excited! 

Invite a couple of friends along with you and explore your neighborhood – you might just find a new cafe which you all can call yours!

18. SHOW ACTS OF KINDNESS TO STRANGERS

Being kind is such a beautiful thing. Be kind to everyone whether or not they are strangers. Why? Because that smile on their faces when you showed them an act of kindness will make you feel so happy.

19. GO GROCERY SHOPPING

It might be my inner housewife, but I love grocery shopping.

I would always find excuses to go to the nearest supermarket and do some grocery shopping because it makes so really happy. It is also a form of stress relief when I am not feeling my best.

20. WATCH A MOVIE/SHOW

I enjoy watching comedies as they give me a good laugh when I needed them. One of my most favorite comedy shows is Running Man, a Korean reality show. I’ve been watching them since I was 13!

21. WRITE POSITIVE QUOTES ON POST-IT NOTES

Write positive and you will think positive.

I like to write positive quotes as it motivates me whenever I see them!

22. GO TO THE PLAYGROUND

I am sure that when all of us were kids, we would be dying to go to the playground. But the playground isn’t just for kids!

23. RUN IN AN OPEN FIELD

Having a medical condition, I am restricted when it comes to exercise. I always wish that I could run like everyone else (although people always tell me just how much they dislike running). But I’m sure it will make me so happy!

24. PLAY A SPORT

Similar to the previous point about running, I would also like to try out table tennis because I have had experience playing it before and it makes me so happy.

Hence, find a sport which you enjoy and not only will it keep you fit and healthy, it will also improve your mood.

25. PLAY AN INSTRUMENT

I am sure music makes people happy.

Playing an instrument is something which has provided me with happiness when I was young because I like to keep my hands busy (I have very itchy fingers!).

26. VISIT THE CHURCH

Whenever I visit the church, I just feel so happy there, as if all my problems and stress has faded away.

Visiting the church has been one of the best decisions I have made in my life.

27. DO SOME STRETCHING

If you’re feeling tense, stretching will help to loosen up the tension.

It also releases endorphins which are going to make you feel happier, stronger, calmer and more confident.

28. GIVE SOMEONE A GIFT

For me, seeing the smile on people’s faces when I give them a gift just makes me so happy. Maybe it is just me, but those smiles give me a sense of achievement.

29. ACCEPT KINDNESS FROM OTHERS

When kindness is given to you, accept it as a blessing and be thankful.

Say “thank you” with a smile and you will notice your mood instantly improving.

30. TAKE PHOTOS

Taking photos is one of my favorite ways to capture long-lasting memories, and is certainly something that makes me really happy when I look back on it!

31. SMILE!

A smile can change everything. Your smile can make not only others happy, but also yourself because you are radiating positive vibes through a simple yet sweet smile.

As you might have noticed, today’s post is very different from what I usually write about.

I have never written a single post on online business here on my blog before but I thought it would be a good idea to share my tips and advice that I picked up along the way during my blogging journey once in a while.

**I am not an expert in blogging. These are just things which I personally learned during the process on my blogging journey.**

As a lifestyle blogger myself, or what I like to call myself, it is slightly easier to come up with blog posts and inspiration because this niche is pretty general. However, there are times where I experienced what any bloggers like to call “writer’s block” where you just don’t know what to write about. 

Today’s post will come in handy for those who are facing a writer’s block and are looking for some inspiration!

HOW OFTEN SHOULD YOU POST?

Personally, I like to have 4 posts a month because of one simple reason – quality over quantity. Now I am not saying that if you post more than 4 posts a month your quality isn’t there.

There are many bloggers out there who publish 16 AMAZING blog posts per month! I wish I could write as good as they do. Right now, I am trying to increase the number of blog posts to about 8 per month and see how it goes.

This whole schedule thing is really just trial and error, so if you are struggling to publish so many posts a month, just stick to what works best for you!
